U Modular Kitchen Narrow

₹82,203
U shaped Kitchen
This design can be used for a kitchen that is narrow around 6.5 to 7 ft width and 10 ft length. This would result in a long running counter of length around 25ft because of the nature of the layout. Because of the long counter, there can be a lot of storage. But this comes with a price of reduced walking space which will suit only a particular set of people. Since the walking space is narrow, mostly baskets are suggested instead of cupboards. This kitchen has 3 basket columns and one bottle-pull out unit. Magic corner is not used. Totally 2-4 inch baskets, 4 6-inch baskets and 2 8-inch baskets.

The hob and the sink are typically in opposite side, and so the wall units are given to complement the given space. Instead of having the wall units end-to-end on both sides, we can have end-to-end units on the hob side, and to only one side of sink to make the kitchen look a little bigger.

A lot of houses of range 70L to 1C has this layout. The trick is to use the corner space more effectively so that we do not loose the space as dead corners. One of the ideas is to use a magic corner in one side, and a L-door in the other side. Of course, the magic corner comes with a price. The sleek magic corner is priced around 20K. Usually, the hob and the sink are in the adjacent counters and the fridge in such a way that the hob, sink and fridge form a working triangle. In this model, the fridge is moved outside to accomodate the Tall Boy Unit.

Island kitchen design is suitable for an open kitchen that is big enough to have an independent counter in the middle. The kitchen should be of size atleast 125 sqft to have an island counter so that there is sufficient walking space. If the Sink or the Hob should come in the island counter, the requirement should be conveyed during the construction phase itself. This enables to plan the plumbing lines, drainage and the exhaust ways.

This design is for a island counter with a straight counter, and the kitchen is open from the other side. Since there is not a lot of floor unit space, this design uses as many baskets as possible to optmize the storage. The space below the island counter may be used to have open or closed units. As already mentioned in the previous design, should the sink or hob come in the island counter, proper planning should be done during the construction phase itself.
